This special class offers a unique fusion between Ballet and Yoga Vinyasa postures, to create a harmonious flow. The grace and elegance of Ballet is balanced with the mindfulness and wisdom brought by Yoga.
4th EDITION: GRACE & MINDFULNESS
Grace is commonly defined as “elegance and beauty of movement.”
In Yoga, there is a more profound definition of grace that truly represents the philosophy of the practice. Grace implies presence, surrender, mindfulness, and dedication to the practice. Without this type of grace, the yoga practitioner remains tethered to the material world.
In Ballet, Gracefulness is an idea belonging to posture and motion. In both these, to be graceful, it is requisite that there be no appearance of difficulty. When dancing, grace and emotion are inextricably linked.
In both practices, Grace is a state of being that is earned through discipline. During 90 minutes, we will explore the subtle definitions of grace through movement and breath.
What to expect?
Two specific techniques for a fun experience! Simple ballet movements are combined with precise Vinyasa poses. Dancer’s Sun Salutation, choreography alternating ballet movements, and yoga balancing postures work around arm and feet positions, stretching, deep relaxation of body and mind… A flow with purpose, at the rhythm of our breath.
No Ballet experience is needed. Previous experience in yoga is preferred but not mandatory.
Natacha used to be a ballet dancer in France and is a movement lover. Drawing inspiration from her background
in dance, she aims to provide students with an inviting and inspiring practice, challenging exercises and a peaceful environment.
